What small town secret could be so important that you would be cursed if you revealed it?

What did the Jewish townspeople not want outsiders to know?

The Rockefeller Museum collection in Jerusalem contains a strange inscription written in mosaic tiles from a Jewish town called Ein Gedi. The mysterious inscription reveals what will happen to anyone who reveals the town’s secret. The literal translation is complex, filled with allusions to “anger,” “punishment” and an “all seeing eye.”

What secret did the Jewish townspeople have to hide?

The secret will be revealed in our episode Museum Secrets: Inside the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
